Architectural linear lighting

Aluminum LED Profiles

Architectural linear lighting, designed around your application.

Create clean lines of integrated light in ceilings, walls, cabinetry, millwork, stairs, shelving, handrails and exterior details. Barbados PolySolutions can help coordinate the aluminum profile, LED strip, diffuser, driver, controls and accessories required for the project.

More than just the profile

Coordinate the complete linear-lighting system.

The aluminum extrusion is only one component. BPS can help coordinate the system around appearance, light output, control, environment and installation requirements.

PRF

Aluminum Profile

Provides structure, mounting method, finished appearance and heat management.

OPT

Diffuser / Optic

Helps control diffusion, glare and final light distribution.

PWR

LED Driver

Provides the appropriate voltage, power capacity and dimming compatibility.

ACC

Accessories

Includes end caps, mounting hardware, suspension components, connectors and installation accessories.

Why use aluminum LED profiles?

Better integration, protection and finish.

A properly selected profile can improve the appearance, protection and performance of an architectural LED strip installation.

FIN

Professional Finish

Creates a clean architectural appearance and helps the light become part of the finished detail.

THM

Improved Heat Management

Aluminum can help dissipate heat generated by compatible LED strip.

PRT

LED Protection

Profiles and diffusers can help protect the strip from physical contact and suitable environmental exposure.

OPT

Better Light Control

Diffusers can soften glare and reduce visible LED points.

FLX

Design Flexibility

Multiple mounting approaches support diverse architectural details.

Project process

You do not need to select the extrusion before contacting BPS.

Start with the design problem. BPS can help narrow the profile and system options from there.

1

Share the Concept

Send photographs, renderings or drawings.

2

Provide Dimensions

Include run length, recess dimensions and surrounding materials.

3

Define the Effect

Functional, indirect, decorative or feature lighting.

4

Coordinate the System

Review profile, strip, diffuser, driver and controls.

LED profile FAQs

Questions before choosing a profile system.

BPS can start with the application even when the final profile, strip or driver has not yet been selected.

Do I need to know which LED profile I want?
No. Send BPS the application, installation method, dimensions and desired lighting effect first.
What is the difference between recessed and surface mount?
Recessed profiles sit within a prepared groove or cavity. Surface profiles attach directly to the finished surface.
What is a plaster-in profile?
A plaster-in profile is incorporated into drywall or plaster during finishing so the visible light line appears integrated into the architecture.
Is the LED strip included with the profile?
The profile, LED strip, diffuser, driver, controls and accessories should be coordinated as compatible parts of the complete lighting system.
Can aluminum LED profiles be used outdoors?
Some systems may be suitable for exterior or moisture-prone locations. The complete LED, wiring, sealing and power system must be selected for the exposure conditions.

Project enquiry

Have an application in mind?

You do not need to know the exact extrusion, LED strip or driver.

Send Barbados PolySolutions your drawings, dimensions, photographs or design concept and we can help identify a suitable profile system and coordinate the other components required for the project.
